NSDC of Ukraine held a meeting on the creation of cyber troops

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine, held in Kiev the first meeting of his department dedicated to the creation of cyber troops.

The event was dedicated to the implementation of the decision of the same NSDC of May 14, 2021 "On urgent measures for the cyber defense of the state." It was put into effect by the decree of the President of Ukraine dated August 26, 2021 No. 446. This is stated in the press service of the National Security and Defense Council.

“The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to develop and submit for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada a bill on the creation and functioning of a cyber troop in the system of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine within two months,” the message says.

During the meeting, the main issues were the amount of material, technical and financial resources required to create and ensure the proper functioning of future cyber troops, recruiting personnel, and defining the main tasks.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the Office of the President of Ukraine and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection.

Recall that the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine approved during a meeting on May 14 a strategy for the development of cybersecurity in the country for the next five years and decided to create Ukrainian cyber troops.

As EADaily reported, in early June, NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov said that the success of this undertaking would be facilitated by the intensification of cooperation with the Lithuanian cyber center in Kaunas.
